The Department of Medical Sciences at the University College of Science and Technology in Khan Younis organized a medical day entitled "Coronary artery disease in Gaza Governorates, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Dr. Ayman Al-Yazuri, Dean of the College Dr. Ahmed Ayesh Abu Shanab, WHO Representative Dr. Mohammad Yaghi, Dr. Saad Al-Din Al-Akhras, President of the Palestinian Heart and Vascular Association, Dr. Hassan Al-Zammar, and a number of members of the academic and administrative bodies of the College and the collection of many students.
In his speech, Abu Hashinab said that these activities open the door to the students of the college and researchers and interested individuals to meet and discuss all scientific issues that would increase the capacity of our students and benefit the Palestinian society by providing solutions to some of the various social problems, noting that the College is constantly working on the organization of activities and events and scientific conferences that which would constitute a qualitative addition to the Palestinian society as a whole.
In the speech of the Ministry of Education between D. Al-Yazoury that the College is keen to hold scientific conferences , scientific days and seminars, which is one of the best communication skills in scientific communities. It also aims to host these events and scientists in several fields to answer some questions to complete the picture in an important community issue. Thanks to the College of Science and Technology for its great efforts to organize scientific activities and events.
In a related context, Dr. Al Zammar showed that this meeting is considered one of the important meetings which discusses the issue of coronary artery disease in the Gaza Strip, which is one of the most deadly diseases in the world in general and Palestine in particular. He also hoped that the scientific day would come out of recommendations and results that contribute to the solution and answer to some special questions with this disease.
In turn, Dr.Yaghi asserted that the organization of this scientific day to highlight a very important case and the hosting of many personalities specialized in the field of arterial diseases and heart and provide appropriate solutions, thanking the College for organizing activities, events and conferences that contribute to provide the Palestinian community with all the necessary information.
First session :
In the first session, chaired by Dr. Raef Ahmed, where he spoke in the first lecture D. Hassan Al-Zammar on ways to treat coronary artery disease in addition to some statistics in Gaza and around the world, and in the second lecture, Dr. Nassar discussed the methods of conducting heart surgery in Gaza and the world and that the heart defect is either in the coronary arteries or in the valves. In the third lecture, Dr. Ismail Al-Balishi talked about the factors that lead to the delay in the provision of therapeutic service for patients with coronary arteries, and the extent of severity of coronary artery disease depends on the speed of therapeutic response as soon as possible.
Second Session:
At the second meeting headed by Dr. Raafat Naim, Dr. Sasem Ayyash spoke about the genetic basis of coronary artery disease, he referred to some genes that are believed to be related to the disease based on previous studies and global databases. In the second lecture, Hashim Mansour talked about the most important new treatments used in the treatment of coronary artery disease, in addition to ways to give to patients and appropriate doses.Dr. Akram Al-Taher talked about the role of the syndrome in the development of coronary artery disease, the relationship of all elements of the syndrome to the disease, and reviewed the results of a study carried out in college on the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among university students.
Recommendations:
The scientific day concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably the continuous scientific and medical research, which is the cornerstone of development, and the vaccination of these researches by the experiences of researchers in other countries by hosting specialists and sending specialists to exchange experiences, modern techniques and techniques, During the period of separation from processed meat, as well as continuous medical courses for cardiac catheterization staff from doctors, nurses and staff, as well as an increase in the number of open heart surgery cases in the Gaza Strip, periodic screening of persons over the age of 40 to know and assess their heart condition. To educate health among the general public, many conferences have been held that relate to heart disease in order to share experiences and information.
